Meet Cherry. She arrived from Texas via a Dog Is My Copilot flight. We are unsure how she found herself in the shelter system in San Antonio, Texas but we do know she is a ball of fun. Cherry has been with us for a year. Although she might not be great with other dogs and cats, Cherry is INCREDIBLE with kids and her family. Cherry is going to be an incredibly family dog. Upon landing with us, she hopped out of the plane and rolled onto her back for tummy scratches. Cherry is such a wiggly girl and melts everyone she meets with her silly grin! Cherry is working on her manners with other dogs and will need to continue to work on her socializing. She doesn’t quite know how to politely greet dogs on leash yet and will need continued training to get her social! She is fully muzzle trained which keeps her and everyone around her safe on walks. She is much too interested in cats to live with any. She is a serious bundle of love and can’t wait to find her forever home!

Cherry’s adoption fee is sponsored by a generous donor and she will come with $500 worth of private dog training sessions!

  • Fill out a dog adoption application. We form our line based on who has an active application in with us.
  • Foster the dog locally for at least one night prior to adopting.
  • Proceed with adoption after all references/landlords have been contacted and overall application have been approved. Adoption fee is $225 which includes the spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations and routine care during their stay here. If you are an out of state adopter, we cannot guarantee vaccinations to be included in the adoption fee.

Please note, Animal Adoption Center cannot guarantee the breed, composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have no history prior to them entering the rescue. We make every effort to ensure the dogs are healthy. Our intention is to insure long lasting committed homes for the animals at the AAC. If we feel that an animal and a potential owner are not a good fit we reserve the right to refuse adoption.
