Adoption Counselor
The Animal Adoption Center (AAC) is a 501c(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving the lives of homeless animals through rescue, adoption, education, and spay/neuter. The Adoption Counselor plays a key role in the AAC’s life saving mission. This is a full-time position including some weekend work. This person will work in collaboration with the adoption counselor team and reports to the Lead Adoption Counselor.
Responsibilities include upkeeping cleanliness standards, helping potential adopters choose their next pet, and partnering with regional shelters on animal selection. This individual will also share our mission and the stories of the animals with AAC guests. Time is also spent caring for our animals, keeping the AAC clean, scheduling dog fosters and communicating with people in person, by phone and email. In support of our spay/neuter work, this person will travel to the Wind River Indian Reservation two to four times per year to assist with free clinics.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with a team, and a positive attitude are required. Animal rescue or industry experience preferred.
