Alyssa is originally a native of Southern California, where she grew up surrounded by sandy beaches, vast deserts, and an array of rescue animals. Since graduating from San Diego State University with her degree in Business Marketing Communications, Alyssa traveled around Southeast Asia and spent a couple years living and teaching at an elementary school in Thailand. After her adventures abroad she was eager to establish herself in the world of outdoor adventure and moved to Jackson in 2019 with her husband Matthew. Since moving to the valley she has welcomed a rescue Rez mutt named Indi and a human baby boy – Holden! With 5 years of animal rescue under her belt she continues to thrive in her role at the Animal Adoption Center, where she feels a true sense of purpose. You can usually find Alyssa chasing her toddler around, exploring the trails with her pup, or petting your neighborhood cat!
