Raised in Jackson, Valeria has spent most of her life romping around the area. As a kid, she always wanted to be surrounded by animals. The best day in 7 year old Valeria’s life was when her parents finally agreed to let her and her siblings have a dog. They rescued a dog named Oso and her love of animals grew even more from there. Her spring breaks were spent visiting family in Mexico where she vowed to one day find a way to help all the animals in need of a home in that community.
Valeria’s bestie is a 12 year old rescue named Koa, who has been in her life for 11 years. Valeria spent 7 months as a foster for the AAC, getting to know the staff and hanging out with the best pups. It was through this interaction with the AAC that led her to make the decision to join the team as an Adoption Counselor.
When not at the AAC, Valeria can be found reading, walking Koa, or baking far too many sweet treats.
