EDUCATION
Through education, outreach and accessible resources, we work to help our community better understand responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and the value of choosing adoption over purchasing a pet.
We strive to challenge misconceptions about homeless animals, connect people with the resources they need, and inspire more people to get involved in creating a community where animals are valued, cared for and given every opportunity to thrive.
Together, we envision a future where every pet has a home and every person has the knowledge and resources to help animals thrive.
Community Involvement
We are proud to partner with local organizations to give animals, potential adopters, and our staff the opportunity to connect in a fun, social environment while raising awareness about homeless pets in our community.
You can find us this fall at the Old Bill’s Fun Run non-profit village on September 12th and at Stone’s Subaru on October 24th for an adoption event!
Youth and School Groups
The AAC believes education about animal welfare is a critical step in our effort to realize an America with no homeless animals. By teaching youth and school groups about animal welfare, the AAC encourages a love of animals from a young age, discourages negative stereotypes about homeless animals and promotes the importance of spay/neuter and adoption. There are several ways youth can interact with the AAC from volunteering once a week, working as an intern over summer vacation to the Teton County School District’s CREST program. Teen Power, GAP Girls, C-V, Summit High School, Journey School and other mentor and scholastic programs are a few of the groups that have visited the AAC recently. If you are interested in collaborating with the AAC to educate your youth group, please call 307.739.1881.
The AAC’s youth volunteer positions are currently full; however, you may fill out an application to be considered for future opportunities! Youth volunteer opportunities vary throughout the year and youth volunteers under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Tours
The Animal Adoption Center strongly believes that by teaching compassion and empathy for all living things that we can prevent the needless suffering and abuse of animals for generations to come. If you are a youth group leader and are interested in bringing your class to the AAC for a lesson in animal rescue and welfare please contact us. We can accommodate small groups on a case by case basis!
Canine Education
Puppies adopted from the AAC get access to weekly Puppy Preschool and a free training session to get you started on the right paw.

Thank you for joining us at New Leash on Life 2026 and for supporting the Animal Adoption Center’s life-saving mission!
We’re already looking ahead to next year! New Leash on Life 2027 will be held July 17 at Mead Ranch from 5–9 p.m. Join us for dinner, live music, cocktails, auctions, adoptable pets and plenty of fun. Virtual guests can also join in on the silent and live auctions, grand raffle, and our incredible $50,000 Lulu’s Fund match.
Every dollar raised at New Leash on Life supports the Animal Adoption Center’s rescue, adoption, education and spay/neuter programs, helping us positively impact the lives of thousands of animals each year. We’re so grateful to have you along for the ride!
